Lead Fundraiser Application

Help establish THOF's fundraising culture, methods, training, standards, and field leadership. The Lead Fundraiser should learn what produces results, personally demonstrate those standards, train others, measure performance, improve the process, and eventually reproduce successful fundraising teams in additional locations.

Name *Email *Phone *City / location *Position applying for *Availability *Preferred schedule *Do you have transportation or access to transportation if field work is relevant? *Can you attend in-person meetings or events when needed? *What makes someone comfortable giving money to an organization they may have just learned about? *Imagine someone stops at your fundraising table but immediately says, “I don't give money to organizations I don't know.” How would you respond? *Tell us about a time you persuaded, sold, recruited, fundraised, canvassed, promoted, or otherwise got strangers to take action. What approach worked? *How would you train a new fundraiser who was enthusiastic but struggling to get people to stop and listen? *How would you respond if one fundraiser produced excellent numbers but regularly made the public uncomfortable? *What numbers would you track to determine whether a fundraising team is improving? *How would you decide whether poor fundraising results are caused by the fundraiser, the message, the location, the audience, or the training? *Describe how you would turn your own successful fundraising approach into something another person could learn and repeat. *What should THOF's fundraising culture feel like to someone interacting with one of our fundraisers? *If THOF eventually opens fundraising operations in another city, what systems would need to exist before you could confidently train someone else to lead that location? *What is the difference between persuasive fundraising and inappropriate pressure? *Are you comfortable having your results measured and discussing performance openly with leadership? How do you respond when results are below expectations? *Acknowledgement *I understand that I am applying for a foundational leadership position in a developing organization and that specific responsibilities, performance expectations, schedule, and compensation structure will be discussed before accepting the position.
