Community Projects

Our projects are built to turn service into structure, ideas into action, and community needs into meaningful opportunities. We believe ongoing participation is what allows a project to grow from a single effort into a lasting movement. Each initiative is created to bring people together around purpose, support, creativity, and practical impact. By supporting these projects, you help us build stronger connections, open doors for collaboration, and create new pathways for people to serve. We invite you to stand with us, participate, and help carry this work forward.

The Business Mixer

The Business Mixer brings entrepreneurs, creatives, small businesses, investors, professionals, and community builders together around culture, commerce, and community. Rooted in Oakland and centered on Jack London Square, the project creates space for real connections, shared ideas, and practical collaboration. Its purpose is to help people stop building alone and begin forming the relationships, systems, and opportunities needed to strengthen local business. Through networking, visioning, and community-centered conversation, TBM supports a stronger Oakland waterfront and a future built by the people who live, work, serve, and create here. This project matters because every meaningful city movement begins with people choosing to connect, collaborate, and build together.

Community Partner

Bay Area Alternative Press

Bay Area Alternative Press is a free and voluntary self-help private membership association rooted in printers, artists, writers, designers, volunteers, and community organizers working to tell the real story. Through our partnership, this project helps people, businesses, and community efforts that need a professionally built custom-coded website but may not have access to expensive design services. If you are low income, building a new project, launching a business, or need a more affordable way to get your website designed, published, and shaped around your vision, this connection is meant to help open that door. BAAP’s history of alternative publication, design, printing, and web support makes this work meaningful because it gives everyday people a stronger way to be seen, heard, and represented. If you need help bringing your message online, inquire with us or connect with Bay Area Alternative Press directly.
